New hotel in Estepona

4 May 2014

Playa Senator Hotel Group will open their new Senator Banús SPA Hotel on Friday April 11th. This five-star hotel will be the first in the area that is an adult only hotel.

The hotel, located in Estepona (Malaga) used to be the Grand Plaza Marbella. It used to be managed by Crown Plaza Hotels Group between 2006 and 2013. It has four floors and 146 rooms over a 7000 square meter surface, of which 2.500 are built. It will be a seasonal hotel.

Hotel sources explained to Europa Press that this hotel will welcome over 18 year old guests. They said that they are seeking guests who want to relax, peace and quiet, that want to enjoy their honeymoon or anniversary, friends’ groups that are looking for fun and so forth. However, they said, this doesn't mean that there won’t be entertainment for this type of guests, rather, there will be activities such as cocktails, massage and dancing.

Playa Senator didn't require any improvements, as the hotel was in perfect state of repair, aside from a few cosmetic changes to better fit the new ownership and the new product. “It is a new hotel and we are expectant to see how this new product works out in Andalucía. We are very excited”, the same source said. It is the sixth hotel owned by this hotel group in Malaga, being the first five-star. So far, room reservations are working out “rather well”. They are promoting the new hotel by going to travel agencies to inform them about what the new hotel has to offer. The new hotel is 500 meters away from the beach and seven kilometers away from Puerto Banús.

A totally different concept is located in Marbella. It’s the “Diverhotel”, for family vacations. This type of hotel is also found in the province of Almería, in Aguadulce and Roquetas de Mar and in the Canary Islands.

Marbella Taxis provide airport transfers from Malaga Airport to the Playa Senator in Estepona.
